Les registres des traumatismes jouent un r\u00f4le crucial pour comprendre les tendances li\u00e9es aux blessures et offrent les renseignements n\u00e9cessaires pour veiller \u00e0 l\u2019assurance de la qualit\u00e9 et \u00e0 la surveillance des blessures, pour mener des recherches, ainsi que pour \u00e9laborer des strat\u00e9gies de pr\u00e9vention et de contr\u00f4le des blessures. L\u2019information recueillie comprend des renseignements sur l\u2019\u00e9v\u00e9nement li\u00e9 aux blessures, les caract\u00e9ristiques d\u00e9mographiques du patient, les types et la gravit\u00e9 des blessures subies lors de l\u2019\u00e9v\u00e9nement, le processus de soins (de la prise en charge pr\u00e9hospitali\u00e8re au cong\u00e9 de l\u2019h\u00f4pital) et l\u2019issue du patient.<\/p>\n\t

Trauma NB manages the NB Trauma Registry, and Horizon Health Network is the designated data custodian. We secured the required approvals for patient-level data to be collected in accordance with current legislation. These approvals recognize that the trauma registry contains only secondary clinical data – the patient’s chart always remains the primary health record for all patients. Our staff collect data from the clinical charts of injured patients who receive care at the provinces’ Level I, II and III trauma centres. The data is used to guide improvements in clinical care, to report on overall system performance and to develop meaningful injury prevention strategies.<\/p>\n

En plus de d\u00e9tenir des donn\u00e9es au sein du Registre des traumatismes du N.-B., nous partageons les \u00e9l\u00e9ments utiles de ces donn\u00e9es avec l\u2019Institut de recherche, de donn\u00e9es et de formation du Nouveau-Brunswick (IRDF-NB), ce qui permet au chercheurs de comparer les soins pr\u00e9hospitaliers et interhospitaliers administr\u00e9s aux patients du Registre des traumatismes \u00e0 ceux d\u2019autres bases de donn\u00e9es majeures telles Statistiques de l\u2019\u00e9tat civil et M\u00e9tadonn\u00e9es de la Base de donn\u00e9es sur les cong\u00e9s des patients (BDCP) tout en prot\u00e9geant la confidentialit\u00e9 des patients.<\/p>\n
